Truro Health Park

The flagship Truro Health Park, opened in June 2010, is located on the site of the former City Hospital on Infirmary Hill and houses 300 staff capable of treating around 4,000 patients per week.

The facility provides purpose-built, state-of-the art facilities, bringing together a range of health and community services under one roof, many of them re-located from cramped, out-dated and inappropriate accommodation.

The co-location of the two Truro GP surgeries in one new building had been a local NHS priority for many years. The facility also brings together community services previously provided in The Leats and community staff who were scattered across the city. By uniting all of these community services into one building, improved communication between services, easier patient access and the space to provide the existing and enhanced future services that are required can be provided.

Services provided at the Health Park include:

• GP services
• a minor operating theatre
• family planning
• podiatry
• pharmacy
• health promotion
• speech and language therapy
• district nurses
• health visitors
• dental service
• CRASAC (counselling charity)

“It’s a very beautiful building and the feedback from patients has been really positive. Not only does it offer a feel-good factor, we will also be able to increase the number of GP trainees and medical students that come through our practice.” Dr Matt Leigh – Lander Medical Practice, Truro Health Park.
