Supporting Truro City of Lights Festival
As part of our ongoing commitment to work with partners to develop community based projects, Community 1st Cornwall is a proud sponsor of the Truro City of Lights Festival since 2007.
In 2010 more than 1,000 people took part in the magical City of Lights festival and parade which was host to an array of beautiful themed large-scale lantern sculptures created by a team of 13 professional artists working with around seventeen schools, two colleges, three community groups, five youth groups and others from across the city and beyond.
As well as the production partners who led on the work all the year round, Community 1st Cornwall were one of the major sponsors to invest in what is seen as a key element to Truro’s and Cornwall’s community winter celebrations.
A spokesperson for Community 1st Cornwall, said: “The parade provides a unique opportunity for us to be involved with the local community, and we are delighted to be able to support this exciting event once again this year. We have already been engaging with the Truro community through Arts for Health to bring creative and artistic thinking into the new Health Park, and the parade is always a superb example of how imaginative and inspirational the local community can be.”
